Before the Renovation

When we first stepped into this Del Mar home, it was clear that it didn’t reflect the lifestyle or vision of our clients. The front entry was hidden inside the main staircase, creating a confusing and cramped arrival. The kitchen felt dark and outdated, with no flow to the surrounding spaces. And with a growing family, the lack of functional storage and a proper drop zone made everyday life impractical.

After the Renovation

By relocating the front door to the true front of the home, we reshaped the arrival experience and opened the views toward the ocean. We carved out a new secondary entry with a mudroom and laundry, giving the family a much-needed space for strollers, groceries, and everyday living. Inside, every space was reimagined with purpose: a bright and layered kitchen anchored by a La Cornue range, a cozy and colorful breakfast nook, a custom built-in bookcase framing the staircase, and warm, textural finishes throughout.
