It's really no secret that your M. Swabb girls have a love affair with wallpaper - it's what we would go so far as to consider a staple, and we find ourselves recommending it to every client that comes our way.  While we're all for those clean, bright, minimalist walls, we think they pair perfectly with the punch of a statement wallpaper.

The walls are freshly painted and the materials installed,...

About one year ago we received an inquiry about a new build in Shadow Lakes, Indio California. Shadow Lakes is a very private, very secluded development nestled around a beautiful man made lake surrounded by tranquil palm trees and breathtaking desert landscape.

I remember the initial drive to the house and my jaw dropped as we entered the community, it felt like a resort, a retreat for close family and friends to ge...

Meet the Lopez Family.

We were recently given an opportunity by a nonprofit organization called

Pen + Napkin. Through this organization we are able to adopt a family and through generous donations of furniture, decor, talents and financial support we are able to transform the living conditions of one family per quarter. We have had a huge heart throb this past year to begin serving our community better. We've had hope...

Lately, I have been thinking about a project we completed a few years ago. I remember the call from Buddha Teas owner John Boyd to visit his Architectural Stunner in Cardiff, Ca. I was about 9 months pregnant and about to go on leave. The energy of this home is incredible but when we first met it felt a little cold and there was definitely room for improvement.

This project came at honestly the perfect time.  It...

Halli, our Lifestyle Photographer stopped by my new casa this week to take some progress shots and like most days we spend together we fell into a complete re-styling extravaganza and the inspiration of course was this coming Halloween. Halloween is by far my favorite holiday, don't get me wrong, I love all the holidays but I think it's the festive fall kick off that really gets me going.

I love the pumpkin patc...

While we're all for putting Millenial Pink in our hair and Kale Green in our smoothies, when it comes to decorating a space, our go-to is Indigo! This beautiful hue is more than just a letter in Roy G. Biv's last name – it's what we at M.Swabb consider a staple color. Where some might put a beige or grey, we'll happily supply indigo. When paired with yellows or turquoises it creates midcentury modern class. Mix it wi...

Tile has come a long long way in recent years. When we think of a design-worthy tile, we think of the eponymous subway tile in New York, the pale pink and lime green tiles of old Los Angeles homes (back when they thought led and aspestos were good for growing girls and boys), or even the beautiful Portugese mosaics our girl Corrie knows and loves. Nowadays, with horizontal white subway tile dominating the market, we...

Like everything in life, interior design is cyclical. Don Draper's office chair? We'll take two. The brass of the 80s? Look who's back! But one of the most important style icons to be in our lives again is the palm! And while we certainly wouldn't turn down any palm tree – real or pattern! - the palm in question is the Banana Leaf.

The most widely known use of this motif is course at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It first...
